Terry Stokesbary Named to New Position

Terry StokesbaryThe M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, Vancouver, Washington, announces the appointment of Terry L. Stokesbary to the position Senior Program Director for Enrichment Initiatives. In his new role Mr. Stokesbary will direct, coordinate, and facilitate the creation of initiatives that enrich the effectiveness of non-profit institutions and organizations and their leaders.

“The Trust has found that helping organizations plan and work more strategically and purposefully leads to increased levels of impact and effectiveness. Terry has been one of the principle catalysts to some of our most vital initiatives. His new role will allow us to be more intentional in our desire to serve our constituencies,” said Steve Moore, Executive Director of the Trust.

Current Trust initiatives include capacity building programs, development seminars, and leadership development.

Mr. Stokesbary came to the Trust in 1997 after serving for nearly 25 years with the national youth organization, Young Life. He is an alumnus of Fuller Theological Seminary and Washington State University.

“For more than 30 years the Murdock Trust has had a significant impact on individual organizations and the overall quality of life in the Pacific Northwest. I am thrilled beyond words to be able to help the Trust move forward in a variety of areas that will hopefully continue to improve individual organizations and the region’s quality of life,” said Mr. Stokesbary.

Mr. Stokesbary and his wife Becky live in Vancouver, Washington. Becky is the managing director with Faithful Friends. They have two children: Drew lives in Olympia, Washington, and Kim is a sophomore at Whitworth University.

The M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust was created in 1975 from the estate of the late Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock. The Trust seeks to partner with non-profit organizations through grants and programs that nurture and enrich the educational, cultural, social, and spiritual lives of individuals, families, and communities in creative and sustainable ways.
